1.Contact Us
Email support@jade6.xyz. We aim to reply within two business days.
To help us help you faster, include:
- Your iOS version and device model (Settings → General → About).
- The app version, from More → Settings → About.
- What you expected to happen, and what happened instead.
- A screenshot, if the issue is visual. Please blank out any amounts you would rather not share — we do not need your real figures to diagnose a problem.
We have no access to your data, so we cannot look up your account or inspect your transactions. Anything you want us to see, you have to send us.
2.Getting Started
Do I need an account? No. There is no sign-up, no login and no password. Open the app and it works.
Does it connect to my bank? No. Jade Connect never asks for bank credentials and has no bank connection. You enter what you want to track.
Why do I see transactions I did not enter? On first launch the app generates a sample set of accounts and transactions so no screen is empty while you look around. To clear it and start clean, go to More → Settings → Data → Erase all data. Your own first entry also takes over from the sample set.
How do I add something? Use the add button on the Overview or Transactions tab. An entry needs an amount, a date and a category; merchant, tags and notes are optional.
3.Backups & Changing Device
Because your data lives only on your device, a backup you export yourself is the only way to move it or get it back.
To export: More → Settings → Data — Backup & Restore → Prepare backup, then Export backup file and save it wherever you keep files (Files, iCloud Drive, email to yourself).
To restore, on the same or a new device: Restore from file, then pick the backup.
I uninstalled the app / lost my phone. Can you recover my data? No, and this is worth being blunt about: we never had it. Deleting the app removes its local database permanently. If you have no exported backup, the data is gone. Export a backup now if you have not.
Note that an exported backup file is a portable document, so treat it like any other sensitive file: keep it somewhere you control.
4.App Lock, Face ID & Touch ID
App Lock is off by default. Turn it on in More → Settings → Security. Once on, the app asks for Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode when you open it, and re-locks as soon as you leave it.
Face ID is not being offered. Check that it is enabled for the app in iOS Settings → Face ID & Passcode. If biometrics are unavailable or fail, the app falls back to your device passcode.
I cannot get past the lock screen. The lock uses your device passcode, not a separate one, so there is no app password to lose. If your device passcode works elsewhere and not here, email us.
5.How the Numbers Are Calculated
Net worth is the sum of the balances of every account you marked as counting towards it, minus your recorded debts.
The financial health score out of 100 combines four things: your savings rate, how many months of average spending your cash covers, your debts measured against your assets, and how well you stay inside the budgets you set.
Insights are fixed rules applied to your own entries — a jump in spending against last month, a thin savings rate, a budget passed, interest accruing on a debt. They are calculations, not predictions, and not machine learning.
The projected month-end figure extends your spending so far this month at the same daily pace to the end of the month. It is arithmetic, not a forecast of your behaviour.
Jade Connect is a tracking and budgeting tool. It does not provide financial, investment or tax advice, and none of these figures should be treated as such.
6.Currencies
Eight currencies are available for display and conversion: US Dollar, Euro, British Pound, Swiss Franc, Canadian Dollar, Japanese Yen, Australian Dollar and Chinese Yuan. Set yours in More → Settings.
Conversion uses fixed reference rates built into the app. They are not live market rates and are not updated over the network, so converted figures are approximate and should not be used for anything that depends on an exact rate.
7.Deleting Your Data
Everything, at once: More → Settings → Data → Erase all data. This cannot be undone.
One item at a time: open it and delete it, or swipe it in any list.
Everything, including the app: delete the app from your home screen. That removes its local database with it.
There is nothing for us to delete on our side, because we hold nothing. See the Privacy Policy.
8.Troubleshooting
The app says it is under maintenance. The app checks a small status file when it opens. If we have taken the service down briefly, that screen appears and clears by itself once we are back — tap Try again. Your data is untouched throughout.
The app asks me to update. Install the latest version from the App Store and the message clears.
A number looks wrong. Check the entry’s type (income or expense), its date, and whether its account is set to count towards net worth. Those three explain most surprises.
The app will not open, or closes immediately. Restart your device, then make sure iOS is up to date. If it continues, email us before deleting the app — deleting it destroys your data, and we may be able to help you keep it.
9.Requirements
iOS 17.0 or later, on iPhone or iPad. No internet connection is required to use the app; the only network request it makes is a status check when it opens.
In short: your data is on your device and nowhere else, so export a backup before you change phones.
